Meet the Vision Therapy Staff

Meet the experienced and friendly Vision Therapy staff at Eyecare Associates Marshalltown in Marshalltown, Conrad and Toledo.


Dr. Monroe

Dr. Monroe“When I realized how vision therapy could absolutely change people’s lives, I knew that’s what I wanted to do.”

Dr. Kacie Monroe grew up in the Conrad area and graduated from BCLUW. She went on to University of Northern Iowa and finally Indiana University for optometry school. It was at an externship in an optometry practice in Kentucky that Dr. Monroe discovered the power of vision therapy. “I was amazed that vision therapy could help an adult who had a concussion return to work without feeling dizzy and help a child who was struggling with reading reach grade level.”

After graduating from optometry school in 2011, Dr. Monroe worked in a private practice in Cedar Rapids where she oversaw vision therapy. In 2021, Dr. Monroe and her husband decided to move to Marshalltown to be closer to family. She is excited to offer vision therapy and rehabilitation to central Iowa at Eyecare Associates.

When she’s not at work, Dr. Monroe can be found spending time with her husband, two kids, and golden retriever. She enjoys bowling, golfing, and craft projects.


Meet Rachel

RachelRachel Brodin wears many hats at Eyecare Associates. She is one of our office’s Chief Encouragement Officers (CEOs) in addition to being our Vision Therapy Coordinator. Rachel has worked at Eyecare Associates for six years after graduating from University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

Rachel enjoys being involved in vision therapy. After observing her first vision therapy session, Rachel was excited to learn more about vision therapy and is always amazed at how the process works. Her favorite part is hearing the success stories and seeing patients improve and build their confidence.

Rachel lives in Marshalltown with her husband, Matt, who works as a realtor at Premier Real Estate. Their family also includes two dogs, a cat, and their adorable baby, Theo. Rachel loves to travel, especially anywhere related to Disney.


Meet Candice

Candice and her familyCandice Callaway is a vital part of the team at Eyecare Associates. In addition to managing insurance and billing, she is also one of our vision therapy coordinators. Candice has worked at Eyecare Associates for five years after previous experience with in the medical field.

Candice lives in the BCLUW Community school district with her husband, Blake, and their two children, Emily and Aydien. In her free time, Candice enjoys being crafty and spending time with her family.


Meet Alli

Alli has been a part of the Eyecare Associates team for two years and is excited about the opportunity to be a part of the vision therapy program. Alli has previous experience in the healthcare industry and working as a paraeducator in a local school district. As a vision therapist, Alli has participated in training to learn about the visual system and vision therapy procedures.

Alli lives in Marshall County with her fiance Brian and daughter Willow. She has three older children Julia, Dylan, and Gwyn. In her free time, Alli enjoys spending time in nature, participating in outdoor activities, and tending to her houseplants.
